CZT Detector Configurations

eV PRODUCTS offers a wide range of standard and custom detectors and detector packages. Most off-the-shelf detector packages allow custom detector sizes and shapes to meet specific application requirements. Our experienced engineering department can quickly design custom electrode geometries and mounting substrates to maximize detector performance for any application.

CZT Detector Size:

Detectors are available in various shapes and sizes. When ordering detectors please specify the detectors dimensions in one of the following formats:

Note: Electrodes deposition face is indicated by the first two dimensions or the round parts on the diameter.

• Length (mm) x Width (mm) x Thickness (mm)

• Diameter (mm) x Thickness (mm), (with or without flats)

• Custom shaped detectors can be ordered with the assistance of our application engineers.

CZT Material Grade:

CZT material grade selection is influenced by a number of factors including detector geometry, electrode configuration, and final application. Our application engineers can assist you and make recommendations based on your specific application.

Electrode Geometries:

CZT detectors are available in a wide range of electrode geometries. Please refer to the electrode geometry configuration page. Electrode geometry Un-contacted raw CZT blanks are available upon special request for fundamental research projects only.

Mounting:

Finished CZT detectors are bonded onto specially designed mounting substrates or directly onto carriers with integrated readout electronics. Pixilated detectors can be "flip chip" bonded onto custom carriers or directly to readout ASICs. Our patent pending Z-directional bonding technology (Z-bond®) allows precision bonding of complex electrode geometries and high pixel density detectors.

eV PRODUCTS offers various off-the-shelf detector mounting packages as well as custom designed mounting substrates. Alumina / Ceramic (Al2O3) is the preferred mounting substrate for CZT, however FR4 is available upon special request. Note: Un-mounted CZT detectors are available for special orders. However, for optimum detector performance we recommend that all CZT detectors be mounted by eV PRODUCTS controlled bonding processes and years of CZT bonding experience.
